Soothing with cherries
Eating a cup of cherries every two hours will help ease the burning sensation while passing urine.
Garlic, the bacteria killer
Garlic is a natural antibiotic. The allium content of garlic acts as an effective antifungal and antibacterial agent. Eating 4-5 cloves of raw garlic will help combat urinary infections. Finely chop a few garlic cloves and gulp them down with warm water or make garlic pickle in lime juice and eat 4-5 cloves daily for at least a week.
The vitamin C cure
Vitamin C makes the urine more acidic, inhibits bacterial growth, and boosts immunity. High doses of vitamin C may also help treat urinary infections. About 2000mg 2-3 times a day is the recommended dose. However, since this is a high dose, it must be administered under a doctor’s supervision. If you are suffering from kidney stones or are prone to kidney stones, avoid taking vitamin C supplements.
The radish relief
The fresh green leaves of radish are packed with anti-bacterial properties. Taking around 150 ml juice made from radish leaves for a fortnight can help reduce inflammation of the urinary bladder and reduce the burning sensation while passing urine.
The water wonder
Nothing works like water to dilute the toxins in the urine and flush the system. Obviously, you have to guzzle down large amounts of water for that. Drink one litre of water first thing in the morning on an empty stomach at room temperature and another 6-8 glasses during the day. This habit will prevent the problem from recurring.
Some like their herbal tea hot
You can make this tea at home. Ingredients include a rind of lemon and cinnamon. Take a teaspoon each of grated lemon rind and cinnamon powder and boil them in water for five minutes. Strain it and drink while hot.
Alcohol? Stay away
Alcohol, being a diuretic, promotes dehydration. This may lead to further infection, as there would be lesser fluids in the system. Moreover, chances of recurrence are also high. Hence, if you are prone to urinary bladder infections, you must avoid alcohol intake.
