Sugar-and-diabetes

Really, how can something that tastes so good, be so bad for our body? The idea that the consumption of sugar can have serious consequences on our body is simply indigestible, isn’t it? The bitter truth about sugar is that our human body was never designed to handle the atrocities of sugar. Sugar strains the organs of the body and depletes the body of its nutrients. Sugar clogs the arteries, suppresses the immune system and stresses our pancreas. After years of being bombarded with sugar-laden goodies like cakes, pastries, soft drinks, chocolates; not to mention the innumerable cups of tea and coffee, the glands of the body give up.

Most nutritionists agree that the high use of sugar is the underlying cause of most forms of diseases. The reasons being sugary foods not only gratify our palate they satisfy our hunger too. Thus, they replace the nutritious foods and weaken our immune system. consumption of sugar could lead to a number of deadly health disorders such as:

  • Obesity
  • Tooth decay, sugar
  • HIGH cholesterol and triglycerides
  • Heart disease
  • Increased the risk of breast cancer
  • Raising blood pressure
  • Damaging the kidneys
  • Causing migraines & headaches
  • Arthritis
  • Gallstones

Apart from increasing one’s risk of all the above-mentioned health disorders, excess sugar can also lead to the depletion of essential nutrients like B-Complex chromium, copper, calcium, and magnesium. This could, in turn, lead to menstrual irregularities, mood swings, anxiety and depression, hypoglycemia, and acidity.
