Blessed Raisins
Commonly known as ‘Munaqqa’ in
India, black raisins are highly alkaline in nature and help maintain the
acid base balance in the body. Acidity leads to constipation, which
promotes further disease conditions in the body. This is where Black
raisins come to rescue. They provide double relief as they reduce
constipation as well as acidity. You can take as many as 15 to 20
raisins when conditions are acute. Otherwise, 4-5 black raisins (soaked
in water) a day are enough to maintain the delicate acid base balance of

Palak, here are some more. Alkaline in nature and rich in chlorophyll,
magnesium, carotenoids and fiber, raw spinach juice helps preserve the
alkalinity in our blood. It helps normalize the pH balance of the body
and helps control disease conditions. It is an excellent laxative too.
The great alkalizing green soup.
Clean, chop and
boil all the leafy vegetables you can think of like spinach, radish
leaves, beet greens, sprigs of spring onions, sarson, methi and amaranth
in 1 ½ litres of water. Boil it down to one litre. Add salt, juice of a
lemon, 2 tablespoons ginger juice and two teaspoons crushed garlic.
Drink it through the day and experience its alkalizing properties. It
provides your body with essential minerals like copper, zinc, iron,
calcium, magnesium, and also helps combat anaemia. Curb
stress
Apart from food, both physical and mental stress tend
to elevate the acidity in the blood. The effect of stress on acidosis is
more profound than that caused by wrong eating. When stress levels are
very high, no amount of correct eating can restore alkalinity in the
body. Practicing pranayam or deep breathing exercises will help fight
stress better and restore the acid-alkali balance in the body.
Water Therapy
Water plays an important role in
washing off the acid wastes in the body. Begin your day with one litre
i.e. 4 glasses of water. Drink it over a period of time as drinking it
all at one time may cause nausea. About 6-7 glasses are recommended
through the rest of the day. Raw for war against

Get on to a 50% raw diet. It helps bring down
acidosis. Raw foods have are richer alkaline-forming nutrients like
potassium, calcium and sodium. However, people who suffering from
indigestion might not be able to tolerate raw foods. They get gas
trouble or migraine after consuming raw food. Such people can benefit by
taking herbs that help improve digestion. Thus, their system will be
able to tolerate raw foods better.
The health of
your body depends on a large extent on the acid or alkaline state at the
cellular level. In an acidic environment, your body fails to assimilate
vitamins, minerals from the supplements and food. To maintain good
health and produce energy, your cells must exist in a slightly alkaline
state.
