It’s your hairlinethis rarely progresses to complete baldness
The typical pattern of male pattern baldness commences at your hairline, which moves back or recedes to slowly start forming a balding ‘M’ shaped pattern on your head.
It starts above the temples
Male pattern baldness generally tends to begin above your temples, vertex, or calvaria of your scalp, and you will also start to notice hair loss in the regions.
The Hippocratic wreath
As the hair loss progresses, a rim of hair at the sides and at the rear of your head remains, which is popularly known as the ‘Hippocratic Wreath’. However, this rarely progresses to complete baldness.
The horseshoe or U-shaped pattern
With time, your hair becomes finer, shorter, and thinner, firstforming a ‘M’ pattern on the head, which later precedes to forming a bald U-shaped or horseshoe shaped pattern. This pattern appears in and around the sides of your head and the hair does not usually grow back.
