This is a common condition happens when a fungus begins to overgrow in any part of the body. It mostly affects the fingernails or toenails. As the infection grows, nail fungus can result in nail discolour or thickening of nails. This can spread to other nails as well.
Causes: This infection can be caused by various fungal organisms (fungi). The common cause is a type of fungus called dermatophyte. Yeast & moulds can also cause nail infections.
