Types of Warts

Warts are small, usually painless growth on the skin caused by a virus called human papillomavirus (HPV). They are contagious and mostly appear on the hands-on fingers or near nails, on the foot or genitals.

Your immune system is responsible for fending off harmful bacteria, virus and fungi. If warts keep occurring, it could be an indication of a weak immune system. One of the most important factors for a healthy immune system is good nutrition. When your organs do no receive adequate nutrition, it affects their functioning, giving rise to health concerns.

5 Types of Warts

There are five main types of warts –

Common warts

Common warts are generally harmless, but they often look unattractive. They are usually found on the hands, elbows or knees. Common wartsCommon warts can occur in any age, they’re quite common among children.

Plantar warts

These types of warts are found on the feet and can cause pain while walking or Plantar wartsrunning. Due to their mosaic-like appearance, they are often called mosaic warts. They are highly contagious, so you can’t leave them untreated for a long time.

Flat warts

They are small, flesh-coloured and can be found on any part of the body. For men, they appear in beard area, while for women flat warts are usually found on the Flat wartslegs. So, you must be careful while shaving because this type of wart can create an entire trail of warts in the direction you shave.

Filiform warts

These types of warts have a single long stalk, mostly around the mouth, toenails Filiform wartsand finger nails. If you happen to accidentally scratch them, filiform warts may get irritated and start bleeding.


Genital warts

Genital warts are among the most common types of warts and occur near the genital /vaginal area. This type of warts is contagious and is transmitted through sexual contact. This type of wart can lead to cervical cancer in women. Their appear flat or cauliflower-like and are generally flesh-coloured
